Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce

The origins of the Chamber can be traced back to 1813

The Chamber has been in existence for over 200 years – the first association was established in 1813 and became incorporated in 1949. It was borne out of a desire from businesses to meet and trade together. For there to be an organisation to represent the interest of commerce and industry and to ensure that there was a voice for business. There has also been a need for an organisation to deliver services to help businesses to start, grow and succeed.

Why us?

  • Business Support – we are at our heart a membership organisation and believe that the best business support comes from the services and support we offer and our experienced staff. We have a range of member-only services and funded programmes (available to all the business community). We have developed specific membership offers to reflect our local economy for sectors

  • Enterprise Support – we aim to inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow through bringing education and businesses closer together, helping individuals start up their own business and supporting students to have relevant skills for business and industry. We have established programmes specifically for fledgling businesses to help them get established and they are Ready for Business and the One2Three Club

  • Trade – we encourage international trade through our UKTI programme and export documentation service as well as supporting local trading through exhibitions, events and lobbying for local procurement opportunities. We have launched a specific international trade membership offer
  • Training – we have a comprehensive, business focussed programme to encourage the workforce to reach its full potential, and which can be delivered at the Chamber or a bespoke service. We are developing the offer through partnerships with the universities and the FE colleges in the county. Members get a discount and advance notice

  • Events – we organise over 150 events each year of varying scale and size. This supports and informs business and helps strengthen supply chains. We believe this is at the heart of our Chambers so we offer specific events for members

  • Representation – this is a service at the heart of Staffordshire Chambers and is largely to support members. We take on issues that affect the whole business community and lobby at all levels of policy decision making
